The Department of Applied Computing and System Engineering was formed in 1994. at the Faculty of Mining and Geology, University of Belgrade. The principal activities of the Department are: ▪ Education; ▪ Scientific and Applied Research; ▪ Design, Professional assessments and Study Analysis for Industrial Purposes; ▪ Software Engineering; ▪ Automation and Process Control in Industry; ▪ Information and Information-Management technologies; ▪ Computer Integrated Technologies; ▪ System Engineering and Re-engineering; ▪ Environmental Protection Engineering; ▪ Management in Mineral Industry; ▪ Journalism; ▪ Organization of Scientific and Professional Meetings.
Department associates have published more than 400 scientific and professional papers, with annual citation of over 40. They are the authors of 13 monographs, 17 professional textbooks, 38 scientific and development-research projects, more than 80 business cooperation projects, studies and investment programs, 22 information and information-management technologies, about 30 multimedia information presentation and more than 150 software solutions. Pioneer contribution was given in project and development of computer integrated computer supported information-management systems with GPS technology implemented at several important mines. They are the authors of these strategic projects: Specialized System of Scientific, Technological and Business Information for Mining and Geology of Yugoslavia, and the Cadastre of occurrences and deposits of the mineral resources of Yugoslavia.
Since the Department was established, more than 2,500 graduate and approximately 200 postgraduate students were taught. |
