3rd BALKAN MINING CONGRESS October 1-3 2009 Izmir – Turkey MINEX 3rd Mining, natural resources and technology fair Balkan Mining Coordination Committee, The Chamber of Mining Engineers of Turkey
Invitation Based on the decision of the Balkan Mining Coordination Committee taken at the 2nd Balkan Mining Congress held in Belgrade, the Chamber of Mining Engineers of Turkey is proud to host the third Balkan Mining Congress and Mining Fair to be held in Izmir on October 1-3, 2009. This congress series began in 2005 and is now recognized as a forum for information exchange among professionals from various branches of the mining industry, researchers, consultants and manufacturers throughout Balkan countries and the world. We look forward to welcoming you to beautiful Izmir in October 2009.
Themes The principal objective of the congress is to promote operational, economical and scientific information pertaining to all aspects of mining technology, energy and sustainable development.
Venue The 3rd Balkan Mining Congress will be held at International Izmir Fair Center – Kültürpark/IZMIR on October 1-3, 2009.
Abstract Submission Abstracts should include the title of the proposed paper, sufficient detail (200-400 words) to allow the Scientific Committee to judge the content of the proposed paper, the name, affiliation, mailing address, phone number and email address of the author(s). Abstracts should be sent to Executive Committee by January 30, 2009. Notification of acceptance will be mailed by February 27, 2009. The final camera – ready paper should be sent before July 26, 2009. The papers will be presented either orally or in posters. Oral presentations will also be broadcasted live via internet.
Exhibition In conjunction with the Congress, 3rd MINING, NATURAL RESOURCES AND TECHNOLOGY FAIR OF TURKEY, MINEX 2009 will be organized for the exhibition of mining products together with companies offering machinery, equipment, instruments, software and services to mining, processing and energy industries.
Trip & Tours Pre- and post-congress tours around Antalya will be offered to the participants. Details will be given in the second circular.
Language The official languages of the Congress are English and Turkish. Simultaneous translation will be provided.
Registration Fee The application form is attached and also available on the web site (www.balkanmine.org.tr). Congress Registration Form should be filled in and returned to the correspondence address. The registration fee covers Congress materials, coffee breaks, 3 lunches, welcome cocktail and closing banquet.
